Natural vs. Synthetic Fabrics: What Your Skin Feels, Not What the Tag Says
If you think that there is not much difference between natural and synthetic fibres, you are wrong. Many of us look at the clothing tags while we are shopping. We note the size, view the price and simply move on. We do not look at the composition of the fabric because it feels like a technical detail we can miss. It’s something meant for experts and not for customers.
But with time, I have learnt that everything that’s mentioned on the clothes tells you something meaningful. For example, tags tell you what the fabric is, and your skin will tell you how the fabric truly behaves. So, ignoring the fabric quality of the clothing is one of the biggest mistakes you’re making if you struggle with certain fabric types in winter or summer seasons.
Which Clothing Suits me? Synthetic or Natural?
I did my own research about fabrics because I wanted to find which clothing fabric would be most suitable for my body. I am a core winter person. Wearing a mens linen trousers slim fit, in extreme hot and cold weather has become my new constant. The lightweight, comfortable fabric feels so good against my skin that I don’t want to switch to any other fabric other than cotton and linen. I also found white linen shorts and linen kurta set for men from Chilinen, a versatile and top-of-the-line clothing brand.
I don’t know how I can survive summers in synthetic fabrics, but the same fabric is acceptable in the winter season when paired with some layers, like jackets, etc. In my ‘ideal-clothing-style’ hunt, I found that synthetic fabrics are designed for structure and durability, but they are not an optimum fit when it comes to everyday comfort. In a warm climate, you cannot choose synthetic fabrics because they will trap heat and hold onto moisture, making you irritable all day. They also restrict air flow, which leaves you gasping for air after a point if the temperature rises in summer.
Bottom Line The ongoing heat wave combined with synthetic fabric makes it worse for me in the summers, leading to sticking as irritation, and that constant urge to adjust my clothes. But on the other hand, there are natural fabrics which respond differently to the body. They can adapt well to different temperatures. They breathe and feel lighter against the skin. I found my optimum fits from Chilinen's website, a stylish and modern clothing brand where you can find trendy and comfortable linen clothes. If you share the same problem as I, Chilinen is worth a try!
