A Traveller’s Craving Finds a Home: Discovering the Best Indian Restaurant in Danang

Travelling through Vietnam has been a sensory overload in the best way: vibrant streets, endless coffee stops, and breathtaking beaches. But a few weeks into my stay in Da Nang, something unexpected hit me: a deep craving for familiar spices. One evening, after a long walk along the Han River, I found myself searching on my phone for indian food near me, hoping to find a taste of home in a foreign land.

That led me through the silent street with warm scents of cumin, cardamom, and slow-cooked curries. Curiosity and hunger made me enter a restaurant, which many locals and visitors consider the best Indian restaurant in Danang. The initial impression was relieving, the light was gentle, people were talking, and the air smelled of freshly baked naan.

As a traveller, I often rely on instinct when choosing where to eat. This time, it paid off. The menu was filled with yummy Indian cuisine. After asking the staff for recommendations, I ordered our own fav chicken curry and a vegetarian dal, along with rice and naan. One bite in, and I knew I had found my go-to curry restaurant near me.

It was not only the abundance of flavours or the excellent balance of spices, but it was also the sense of being accepted. The employees inquired about my trip, told me about Da Nang, and made the night what I imagine eating alone looks like, more like eating with friends.

I came to know later that the restaurant was The Rang, which was slowly gaining popularity among travellers and locals. I have made it my comfort stop since that night, after a long day of travel. When other tourists ask me where they can get authentic indian food around me in Da Nang, I refer them to The Rang. This place deserves hype; the place tastes like home.
